![]() Although, the story aspect for me is kind of a return from the BL1 DLC content, but the dialogue is still funny and a riot to listen to. The new guns also stack up to the whole pirate mythology, with 'Cursed" guns (although I didn't tend to notice these negatives as much), and overall this DLC altogether has a lot more effort put into the content that they give. Also, I enjoy the new familiar and added enemies in this DLC, as well as the fact that they have been completely re-skinned and voiced over to represent the whole idea of "Pirate's Booty". Now there are multiple Fast Travel Networks in this DLC (so far), so you won't have to backtrack, A New Vehicle (which in a way is pretty decent once you get used to it) and most importantly, this DLC balances both Vehicle and On-Foot Combat spetacularly. Thankfully, this first BL2 DLC suffers from neither of those issues. Also, a smaller complaint I had with these particular BL1 DLC's is that each DLC either focused on All Vehicle travel or all Foot Travel, which is a pain considering that a lot of the DLC's from BL1 were also a development test to bring out BL2 with that kind of innovation. Particularly, my biggest complaint with the BL1 dlc's is that they only had 1 FAST TRAVEL SYSTEM in the DLC, so you were forced to keep backtracking from where you started off, especially with the Armory of General Knoxx. Although it does not negatively affect the DLC as a whole it is noticeable.Compared to the DLC's from Borderands 1, this particular DLC is a fine improvement from not only the improvements over the gripes from Compared to the DLC's from Borderands 1, this particular DLC is a fine improvement from not only the improvements over the gripes from Borderlands 1 but also the gripes of it's DLC's. Something that I noted is that you do a bit more backtracking or exploring through the same environment more often then you did during the main game. Like the main game the length of play is dependent on if you do everything available to you, or if you just go through the main story quests only. The DLC playtime will come in at around 6 to 9 hours during your journey. I found some nice variety in the areas I traversed and you will too. Trust me, the first time you walk down towards Oasis and you see the large tanker sitting on top of a small mountain on the outskirts of the town, you’ll know what I am talking about. The DLC keeps to the Borderland’s style with some very creative levels and some neat looking environments to explore. There are new areas, new enemies, and of course a new vehicle for you to use. What is definitely interesting the DLC’s story takes place in a whole new setting with a whole new set of things to see. That being said, if you are already maxed out, and already have some uber-weapons, then you won’t find too much more here to really satisfy your needs. The addictiveness is there, and the first time through the DLC you will want to see what you can get, but overall there is nothing too mind blowing, but collecting is what the game is about, and you can do it here. ![]() ![]() You’ll find new weapons and you’ll also collect new currency in the game called Seraph Crystals that are found by defeating raid bosses. With most people who play Borderlands, next to the story the desire to for hunt for loot is what keeps people coming back, and in Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty there is loot for you to search for. This varying quality won’t make you hate the DLC, it is just that it doesn’t make you overly love it either. As for the majority of quests, although some of them are worthy for sure, there are others that just lack the quality or style of those found in the full game, and there are quite a few fetch quests, something that may or may not be your cup of tea. The main story is fairly good, but it just didn’t grab me the way the main game’s narrative did. During my time with the DLC I do have to admit that as I played I felt that there were times that I was just plugging through some of the quests just to get through them.
